LEGAL
Terms and Conditions
These terms are a contract between you and Ludis Sports Ltd. They cover your Ludis account and your use of our software. Please read them — they explain what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.
1. Who we are
LudisPortal is operated by Ludis Sports Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.
Flat 25, The Cosmopolitan1-3 Commercial RoadPooleDorsetBH14 0FDUnited KingdomYou can reach us at george@ludissports.co.
2. What these words mean
- Portal
- LudisPortal — the website and any Ludis mobile application, where you manage your account and view your results.
- Ludis ONE
- Our physical installation at a venue: a screen or projected wall you kick a real ball at, with a system that detects where the ball lands.
- Venue
- The business that owns or operates the site where a Ludis ONE is installed.
- Organisation
- A venue’s account on the Portal, used by its staff to manage its own devices and members.
- Guest play
- Playing on a Ludis ONE without signing in to an account.
- We, us, our
- Ludis Sports Ltd.
3. Accepting these terms
You accept these terms when you tick the box confirming you agree to them as you create your account. If you do not agree, do not create an account. You can still play as a guest at a venue, subject to that venue’s own rules.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information. It forms part of these terms.
4. Who may hold an account
You must be at least 13 years old to hold a Ludis account.
If you are 13 to 15 years old, you need permission from a parent or guardian before you create an account, and they must be willing to be contacted by us about it. By creating an account in that age range you confirm you have that permission.
There is no minimum age for guest play on a Ludis ONE — that is a matter for the venue and for the child’s parent or guardian.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, or to someone aged 13 to 15 without parental permission, we will close it and delete the personal data held in it.
5. Your account
- You sign in with a username and password. Your username is public to other players; choose it accordingly.
- An account is for one person. Do not share your password or let someone else use your account.
- You give us an email address so you can recover your account. It is not shown to other players. The same address may be used for more than one account — useful, for example, for a parent managing several children’s accounts.
- Keep your details accurate, and keep your password to yourself.
- Tell us at george@ludissports.co as soon as you can if you think someone else has got into your account.
You are responsible for what happens under your account, unless it results from something that is our fault.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law, or use the Portal to harm, harass, defame or impersonate anyone.
- Choose a username, display name or profile photo that is offensive, misleading, or impersonates someone else.
- Try to gain access to accounts, devices, venues or data that are not yours.
- Interfere with, probe or attempt to break our security measures, or get around rate limits and other protections.
- Falsify scores or results, or try to attach a result to your account that you did not earn.
- Copy, scrape or bulk-collect data from the Portal by automated means.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with our software or hardware, except where the law expressly permits it.
- Resell or commercially exploit access to the Portal without our written agreement.
We take reports of misuse seriously. If you spot a security problem, please tell us at george@ludissports.co rather than exploiting it — we will not pursue you for good-faith research reported responsibly.
7. Venues and organisations
Ludis ONE units are installed at venues we do not own or run. When you join a venue’s organisation — for example through a sign-up link that venue has sent you — that venue’s staff can see your player profile and the results you record on their devices. Section 6 of our Privacy Policy sets out exactly what they can see.
The venue is responsible for its own site, its own staff, its pricing, its bookings and its own use of your information. Its terms and its privacy notice apply alongside ours. We are not responsible for a venue’s conduct, and a venue is not our agent.
Venues may display their own advertising on their devices. That advertising is chosen by the venue for the device or site — it is not targeted at you personally and does not use your profile or your results.
8. Physical safety at venues
Ludis ONE involves kicking a real football, hard, in a shared physical space. That carries a genuine risk of injury.
- Follow the venue’s safety rules and any instructions from its staff at all times.
- Supervision of children at a venue is the responsibility of their parent or guardian, and of the venue.
- The venue is responsible for the safety of its premises, its equipment and the way sessions are run there.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and nothing here affects any claim you may have against a venue.
9. Scores, results and leaderboards
- Scores are produced by the Ludis ONE device during play. Only authenticated devices can submit results — a web browser or phone cannot create or edit a score.
- Completed results are final and are not edited. If something is genuinely wrong, contact us and any correction is recorded openly as a separate entry rather than by overwriting history.
- If you played as a guest, the device can give you a one-use claim code so you can attach that result to your account afterwards. Claim codes expire after 7 days.
- Leaderboards are off by default. You appear on a public leaderboard only if you turn on leaderboard visibility, and you can turn it off again at any time in your profile.
- We may remove results, or a player, from a leaderboard where we reasonably believe the result was faked or the system was manipulated.
Results are records of play. They are not a wager, a prize entitlement, or a promise of any reward, unless a venue separately offers one — in which case that offer is between you and the venue.
10. Availability of the service
The Portal is provided free of charge to players. We aim to keep it available and working well, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Live gameplay on a Ludis ONE runs locally at the venue and does not depend on the Portal being online. If the Portal or the venue’s connection is unavailable, play continues and the device queues its results, sending them when the connection returns. This means results can appear in your history some time after you played.
We may change, suspend or withdraw features. Where a change is significant and we can reasonably foresee it, we will give you notice.
11. Content you provide
You may add things like a display name and, in some places, a profile photo. You keep ownership of what you upload. You give us permission to store and display it for the purpose of running the Portal — for example showing your profile photo next to your name at a venue you have joined. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
Only upload a photo you have the right to use, and do not upload a photo of someone else without their agreement. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
12. Our intellectual property
The Portal, the Ludis ONE software, our games, our branding and our designs belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you permission to use the Portal for your own personal, non-commercial use, and nothing more. You may not use the Ludis name or logo without our written permission.
13. Suspension and closing your account
You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing george@ludissports.co. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data when you do.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect other players, a venue, or our systems. Unless the law prevents us or it would compromise an investigation, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
If your account is closed, results you recorded remain part of a venue’s own session records, but they stop being linked to you as an identified player.
14. Our responsibility to you
We do not exclude or limit our liability to you in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for any of your legal rights as a consumer that cannot be excluded.
Subject to that, we are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, for loss arising from a venue’s acts or omissions, or for business losses — the Portal is provided for personal use, and if you use it for any commercial purpose we have no liability to you for lost profit, lost business or lost opportunity.
If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU, you have legal rights that these terms do not affect. Nothing here takes those away.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms — for example if we add features or if the law changes. The version number and effective date at the top of this page always tell you which version is current.
If a change materially affects your rights, we will give you reasonable notice before it takes effect, by email or in the Portal. If you do not agree with a change, you can close your account.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales.
If you live in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or an EU country, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of your home country, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
17. Contact us
For anything to do with these terms, your account, or a complaint, email george@ludissports.co or write to us at the address in section 1. We aim to reply within 30 days.
